Senior Application Virtualization Engineer for Performance & Latency Optimization
Aug 29, 2025 - Senior
$120.00 Hourly
The Challenge
Our organization is facing significant performance and user experience challenges in our large-scale application virtualization environment, impacting thousands of users. We require an expert to address critical issues related to latency in user interactions, resource contention, graphics delivery, and overall system stability and scalability.
The core problem is ensuring that virtualized applications feel as fast and responsive as locally installed ones, especially for our remote workforce. We need a comprehensive solution, not just a temporary fix.
What We Need
We are looking for a highly skilled and results-driven Application Virtualization Engineer to diagnose, optimize, and fortify our existing infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver who can take ownership of the following key areas:
- Latency Mitigation: Develop and implement strategies to minimize latency for all user interactions, ensuring a fluid and seamless experience, regardless of the user's internet connection.
- Dynamic Resource Allocation: Design and implement a dynamic resource management system to prevent contention for CPU, RAM, and disk resources, ensuring performance bottlenecks are a thing of the past.
- High-Fidelity Graphics Delivery: Recommend and implement protocols and compression techniques that allow for smooth and high-quality delivery of graphics-intensive applications without overwhelming our network.
- Proactive Stability Management: Architect a robust and scalable solution that can grow with our business and includes advanced monitoring to identify and resolve issues before they affect end-users.
Compensation
This is an hourly project. We are prepared to offer a competitive rate of $120/hour for a total of 80-100 hours initially, with potential for long-term engagement.
Required Skills
- Core Expertise: In-depth knowledge of application virtualization platforms (e.g., Citrix, VMware Horizon, Microsoft App-V).
- Networking: Strong understanding of networking protocols, latency, and network optimization for virtualized environments.
- System Administration: Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex performance issues in large-scale systems.
- Programming: Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and monitoring.
