We need an intermediate virtualization specialist to audit, manage, and optimize our existing virtual machine (VM) environment. This mission is critical to eliminate performance bottlenecks and improve resource efficiency.

Your Mission:

As the virtualization specialist for this mission, you will be responsible for bringing our VM infrastructure to a state of stability and high performance. Your mission objectives are:

• Audit & Optimization: Conduct a full audit of all existing VM configurations and resource allocations, and then implement a plan to optimize them for efficiency.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve performance issues and system errors within the virtualized environment.
• Patch Management: Implement a consistent and reliable patch management strategy for our virtual machines.
• Monitoring & Recommendations: Configure a monitoring solution to track resource utilization (CPU, RAM, storage) and provide clear recommendations for long-term improvement.
• Documentation: Create thorough documentation of all changes, new procedures, and best practices to empower our team to maintain the environment moving forward.

Who We're Looking For:

This mission is for a detail-oriented systems administrator with practical experience in virtualization. The ideal candidate has:

• Proven experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, or VirtualBox.
• Strong hands-on Linux or Windows Server administration skills.
• Familiarity with network and storage management in a virtualized context.
• Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
