Overview:
We are looking for a visionary Senior Application Virtualization Architect to solve a critical challenge within our IT infrastructure: the inefficient and costly management of our legacy desktop application portfolio. This is a high-impact, strategic role focused on designing and implementing a modern virtualization strategy that will centralize application delivery, significantly reduce operational overhead, and enhance the end-user experience.
Your expertise will directly enable our organization to move away from manual installations to a scalable, on-demand application delivery model, paving the way for future workspace modernization.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):
- Portfolio Analysis: Conduct a comprehensive analysis of our existing application portfolio to identify key dependencies, compatibility issues, and virtualization readiness.
- Strategic Design: Architect a robust, scalable application virtualization solution using technologies like VMware App Volumes, Citrix App Layering, or Microsoft App-V.
- Solution Development: Create a detailed blueprint for the entire lifecycle of application delivery, including packaging, layering, and dynamic deployment.
- Proof-of-Concept (PoC): Lead the execution of a successful PoC by virtualizing and deploying a minimum of 5 critical applications in a pilot environment for testing and validation.
- Documentation: Generate and maintain high-quality project documentation, including the architectural design and portfolio analysis reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT operations and business stakeholders to ensure the new strategy aligns with business needs and technical requirements.

- Application Portfolio Analysis Report: A detailed document outlining the virtualization compatibility and dependencies of our application suite.
- Architectural Design Document: A comprehensive, actionable blueprint for the new application delivery platform.
- Functional Proof-of-Concept (PoC): A fully operational pilot environment demonstrating the successful virtualization and delivery of key applications.
What You'll Bring (Required Skills & Experience):
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in architecting and implementing complex application virtualization projects.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of modern application layering and delivery technologies, specifically VMware App Volumes, Citrix App Layering, or Microsoft App-V.
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex application portfolios and solve intricate compatibility and dependency issues.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on designing sustainable, long-term solutions.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively present architectural designs and project outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
