Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Backup Solutions Expert to define and ensure robust backup strategies and capabilities for our on-premises and cloud-based systems and data. This role is critical for ensuring data availability, integrity, and recoverability, and involves optimizing backup solutions to align with industry best practices, organizational security policies, and business requirements.

• Responsibilities:
  • Ensure backup completeness for all critical systems and data across both on-premises and cloud environments.  
  • Implement consolidated backup monitoring to identify failures and troubleshoot issues.    
  • Set guidelines for periodic restoration tests to validate the integrity and effectiveness of backups.    
  • Develop backup standards and best practices to ensure adherence to industry standards, security regulations, and compliance requirements.    
  • Establish auditing mechanisms for backup performance and data protection policies.    
  • Enhance backup strategies to address disaster recovery scenarios, including ransomware attacks.    
  • Adopt immutable backup capabilities and air-gapped storage strategies to protect backup data.    
  • Collaborate with platform and application teams to address backup-related gaps.    
  • Ensure backup capabilities are integrated into the organization's disaster recovery plans.    
  • Evaluate and select third-party backup and recovery tools (e.g., Commvault, Veeam, Acronis). 
• Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.    
  • Proven work experience of 5+ years in designing, implementing, and managing data backup and recovery solutions in complex environments.    
  • Strong understanding of the latest backup and recovery technologies, storage systems, virtualization, and general IT operations knowledge.    
  • Specific knowledge of resilience-enhancing practices/solutions, such as immutable and air-gapped backups both on-premises and in the cloud.    
  • Experience in developing and testing disaster recovery plans for backup solutions.    
  • Experience in tracking and evaluating third-party vendors.
