Business Overview:
We are launching a new online service and expect a large increase in user traffic in the coming weeks. We need to ensure that our current server infrastructure can handle the load without crashing or slowing down.
The Challenge:
Our main concern is the scalability of our server infrastructure. We don't know if our current setup can handle a sudden spike in user traffic. A lack of performance testing means we are at risk of server downtime, which would be disastrous for our launch.
Expectations:
- Use a simple load testing tool (e.g., Apache JMeter, Locust) to simulate a high number of users accessing our website.
- Run a series of tests to identify performance bottlenecks and the maximum number of concurrent users our server can handle.
- The tests should be done in a controlled environment, not on our live production server.
Support:
We will provide you with access to our staging environment for testing and an overview of our server architecture. We can also provide guidance on what specific user scenarios to simulate.
Delivery:
- The load testing script or configuration files.
- A brief report summarizing the test results, including metrics like response time and error rates.
Documentation:
A README.md file explaining how to run the tests and interpret the results. The documentation should be easy to follow for our technical team.
Skills
- Performance testing and analysis
