We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced freelance VoIP System Deployment & Integration Specialist to implement a new VoIP telephony solution for our organization. We aim to transition from our legacy PBX system to a modern, scalable, and feature-rich VoIP platform that integrates seamlessly with our existing network and business applications.
The chosen freelancer will be responsible for planning, deploying, configuring, and testing the new VoIP system, ensuring high voice quality, reliability, and proper integration.
Key Deliverables & Responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of our current telephony needs, existing network infrastructure, and desired VoIP features.
- Recommend the most suitable VoIP platform/system (e.g., Asterisk, FreePBX, 3CX, Cisco Call Manager Express, Microsoft Teams Phone System, hosted VoIP solutions).
- Design the VoIP network architecture, including IP addressing, VLANs for voice traffic, QoS policies, and firewall rules for VoIP.
- Deploy and configure the chosen VoIP system, including extensions, hunt groups, IVR, voicemail, and call routing.
- Integrate the VoIP system with existing Active Directory, CRM, or other relevant business applications (if applicable).
- Configure SIP trunks and ensure connectivity with external PSTN.
- Perform extensive testing of call quality, features, security, and failover scenarios.
- Provide detailed documentation including configuration guides, call flows, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Offer initial training for administrators and key users on the new system.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience (4+ years) in deploying, configuring, and integrating VoIP telephony systems.
- Strong understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, SRTP) and codecs.
- Experience with at least one major VoIP platform (e.g., Asterisk, FreePBX, 3CX, Cisco Unified Communications, Microsoft Teams Phone).
- Knowledge of network infrastructure requirements for VoIP (VLANs, QoS, firewall rules, PoE).
- Familiarity with SIP trunking and PSTN connectivity.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for voice quality and call routing issues.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA Collaboration, Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate) are a plus.
