Detailed Job Description & Responsibilities

Core Tasks:

• Conduct a full security review of our AWS accounts using tools like AWS Security Hub and AWS Config.
• Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in IAM roles, S3 buckets, and other critical services.
• Analyze current spending and identify opportunities for cost optimization using AWS Cost Explorer and Reserved Instances.
• Implement cost-saving measures such as rightsizing instances, scheduling non-production environments, and leveraging auto-scaling groups.
• Automate security and cost monitoring with CloudWatch alarms and custom scripts.
• Provide a final report with clear recommendations and an action plan for long-term security and cost management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Expertise:
  • Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Security Hub, CloudWatch).
  • Proven track record in AWS security hardening and cost optimization.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash.
  • Deep understanding of AWS security best practices (e.g., CIS AWS Foundations Benchmark).
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Security Specialist certification is a must.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and identify trends.
  • Excellent report writing and documentation abilities.
